It is an authentic manufacturer-sourced component that is specially designed for Dremel tools. This is the part of the tool that allows a user to turn the unit on and off. Unfortunately, over time mechanical switches will wear out and may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. Please make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct location and installation of this part. Keep in mind this high-quality plastic body switch assembly is sold individually.

Lifter rotor assembly out and noticed that shaft lock retainer was in two pieces.
Be sure to notice the relationship between the rotor assembly and the switch assembly. I try to index to the center or "Off" position.
Inserted new shaft lock retainer.
Replaced housing, which took a couple of tries to make sure the shaft lock was properly seated and the switch assembly was clocked to "Off".
Plugged in a fully charged battery and turned it on.
Dremel Multi-Tool only had the very high speed, not exactly sure if motor or switch
