    Pliers, Soldering gun

    1. Removed housing.
    2. Heated solder to and remove both wires ( pay attention where the black and red wires are connected).
    3. Remove and replace switch.
    4. Route wires so that they will not get pinched when housing is replaced.
    5. Solder wires in appropriate location.
    6. Replace housing with all screws and do not over tighten screws.
    7. Install battery and see if that was the problem, in my case it was. Drill runs perfectly.

    Removed old switch and replaced same. The part that was defective was a solid state device which had burned out. Device is screwed to the switch on a heat sink and leads are soldered. .

    No power to the motor

    Knowing that the batteries were ok I removed the screws which exposed the insides. I cut the red and black wires to the motor and jumped the motor wires to the battery. This eliminated the switch, and the motor worked. Ordered the switch and reconnected the wires, put screws back in and now it works.
