We got this unit from a friend that was moving and she had used the drain pipe method and the OEM plug was missing. Various corks and such to block the outlet failed. I ordered the OEM part which is the proper stopper. Then:
1-unscrew pipe coupling from outlet.
2- Remove pipe from coupling by pushing the pipe out through the threaded side. Set pipe aside and label for future possible use.
3- Insert plug into outlet...just push..this is not a screw in.
4-Place the coupling collar over the plug finger extension (it its in the hole left by the removed pipe)
5- Make sure threads on the collar are square up and HAND tighten.
That's it...works like brand new....no leaks....we just empty the bucket....life is good.
