Description:

This is a genuine OEM replacement part, it is sold individually.
This spring is used in a number of String Trimmers and Brush Cutters.
This Spring is part of the String advancing system.
It is placed in between the spool and the spool housing.
Over time the spring will lose its tension and will have to be replaced.

Does the trimmer spring just rest up against the string spool when installed?

Hello Glenn, thank you for your question. The information we have for installation hopefully answers your question. 1. Removed bolt from line housing. 2. Remove the line spool. 3.Remove housing.4.Reverse process while using new spring and housing. 5 Feed line through eyelets in housing and put spoil in place. 7 Install bolt to secure parts in place. Screwdriver

The filter cover wouldn't stay on because the filter base was broken.

1. Removed the 2 screws from the filter base
2. Removed the filter base
3. Cleaned around the carburetor
4. Screwed on the new filter base
5. Replaces the filter cover

New spool and spring

Wound the string on the new spool then placed it in the housing and used the bumper nut to hold it in place.

Pliers, Pliers and side cutters for cutting line

Eyelets in housing was worn to point that line wouldn't feed

Removed bolt from line housing
Remove the line spool
Remove housing
Reverse process while using new spring and housing
Feed line through eyelets in housing and put spoil in place
Install bolt to secure parts in place

Broken Throttle Cable

Separate two halves of plastic throttle trigger assembly. Remove screw securing power head to aluminum driveshaft tube, separate head from tube. Slide rubber guard off tube. Remove pressed-in plastic cable holder. Insert new throttle cable in rubber guard, then slide guard, with cable inside it, onto tube. Reattach power head to tube. Attach throttle cable onto carburetor. Route throttle cable into trigger assembly, reinstall screws to secure halves. Press plastic cable holder into place. Take pictures before disassembly, can be helpful at times.

Spool melted and took out all parts in lower unit

Disabled the parts ,spool ,grass shield ,line guard . Then put it back together using exploded parts diagram.
