Hi John,
Thank you for your question. To remove the spark plug from the engine, use a 5/8 inch socket to remove it. The most common sizes of sockets to use for spark plugs is 5/8, 13/16 and 15/16 inches. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!

The only issue was the choke knob. I only had to pull straight upward on it to remove and access the spark plug. It takes a little more effort then I thought it should but I got the job done.
