Questions & Answers for Solenoid

How do I blow out the carburetor and what tools do I need
Greg asked on 2023-04-21
Hello Greg, Thank you for asking. Make sure the carburetor and all parts are dry. The easiest way is with compressed air. Blow air into all holes, and parts of the carb with the compressor. After everything is dry, install the O-rings and gaskets. We hope this helps!

The solenoid would click when I attempted to start the engine.
After checking the battery and connections, I felt the solenoid was probably the problem. Luckily, that turned out to be the case. So, for $20, I saved a trip to the repair shop and probably about a $150 repair bill.

Solenoid Replacement
Took phillips head to remove cover plate disconnect battery. Inside I took the wires on the terminals of the old solenoid and unbolted the solenoid then replaced with new.
This was very easy and no one should have any problem replacing.

My lawn tractor would not crank so I isolated the problem to be in the electrical system. I jumped the two connections on the solenoid and the starter jumped so I knew it needed to be replaced.
I disconnected the battery, opened the access panel and disconnected the old solenoid and replaced it with the new one. Reconnected all the wires and along with the battery and it cranked over just like it was suppose to. Easy fix but the access to the part I was replacing was a little tight. It took about 20-30 minutes to replace solenoid.

Would not turn over,no voltage at starter with key in start position using volt/ohm meter.battery fully charged.
Disconnected battery removed access panel (two screws) on my Murray 48 inch mower. Access panel is just fwd of operators seat vertically centered with steering wheel. If your memory chip isn't real sharp anymore, you may want to take a photo of the wire connections, remove wires from solenoid just inside access area (five wires). Remove (two) bolts mounting solenoid in place, remove old solenoid. I cleaned the mounting surface on mower with sand paper. Clean and inspect wire and wire ends (crimps),you probably call them connectors or splices, any bad ones cut them off and crimp on a new one (wire crimping tool kit required). Then, reverse mode mount new solenoid connect wires (from your photo) just kidding. Connect battery,op's check went good. Spray some battery terminal protector on your wire connections and at base of solenoid, install access panel
