Blade became unbalanced and vibrated the mower. Caused loose connections in the protection circuit and start key.
Removed cover and repaired the protection circuit. Identified a short with one of the brushes on the motor. Repaired the brush assembly with hot glue and J&B weld. Replaced blade and inserted the block for mulching. Mower runs better now than it has ever functioned.

Original soft plate ripped and got caught in blades
1. Removed key from starter switch.
2. Placed mower on its side.
3. Removed clamps for original soft plate assembly (2 screws)
4. Removed (unscrewed) rod ends from each side of the original soft plate
5. Screwed rod ends into each side of new soft plate.
6. Verified orientation of soft plate assembly.
7. Reinstalled clamps on new soft plate assembly.
8. Set mower on wheels
9. Reinstalled starter key

5. Screwed rod ends into each side of new soft plate.
