This particular part was incorrect for my tool. I contacted customer service and they graciously gave me the number of the manufacturer. Once I had the correct part number I came back to these folks and let them know they had a catalog error. And they had the correct part in stock. The amazing customer service ladies took care of it from there and made everything right, and thanked me for the help. GREAT COMPANY!

Removed brush caps and springs and brushes from sides of tool
Removed four screws holding plastic housing together.
    Separated halves of housing
Lifted armature assembly out of housing
Grabbed shaft lock collar/button before it rolled around the garage floor and disappeared
Unplugged brush holder section from armature
The rear bearing was bad, the front bearing was okay.
Rigged up a v-shaped tool under rear bearing and firmly tapped the shaft to force old bearing off
Placed new bearing on shaft and used a small deep-well socket to drive new bearing into place
Reinstalled brush hold over armature assembly
Test-fitted new brushes. One was binding. Used a small file to gently remove debris from housing to allow brushes to move freely
Placed armature assembly and shaft lock and spring in housing
    Reinstalled other half of housing
    Reinstalled four screws
Told my wife how awesome I am and how lucky she is to have a man who can fix things

The brushes were worn out. When you replace them sometimes the caps break so, that's why I get caps to.

Collet nut was cross threaded, could not remove the normal way

    Walter - March 16, 2017
    Tool Type

    MultiTool

    Difficulty

    Easy

    Time

    1-2 hours

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, T 10 torx driver for case screws

    1. After removing the four torx screws that hold the case together, I carefully removed the armature from the field wiring's.
    2. Then I inserted the new armature into the field wiring's and reassembled the tool. replaced the cap on the shaft end with a new one because the old one would not come off because it would not fit over the collet nut.
    3. I had a good bit of trouble getting the brushes inserted into the brush springs because of the arthritis in my hands and fat fingers. I would suggest having some one with small hands assist doing this part. Also be careful you don't loose the button and spring involved in holding the armature from turning when removing the armature. It would have taken a lot less time if I didn't have so much trouble with the small parts.
