The sanding pad was worn out along with the planten assembly. Would not hold sand paper sheets.

Removed the 4 screws in the bottom of the sander pad. The pad plate and cushion came off. Grabbed the platen assembly by the sides and lifted it off the motor assembly. The only screws holding it in place are the 4 in the sander pad. Pushed the new platen assembly in place, replaced the sanding pad and cushion with the new one and screwed the holding everything in place.
Word of advise. If ordering, order several sanding pad plates and cushions. They wear out fast.
    Very easy to do.

Sanding disc and cushion pad needed to be replaced on both of my orbital sanders.

    Richard - December 26, 2017
Removed and replaced sanding discs and cushion pad on each sander. Each sander only required the removal of 4 screws each. Very simple, less than 10 minutes total for both sanders.
