Is the thread pitch on this screw 0.8
Noel mooney
Hello Noel, Thank you for your question. This screw is M5, 18.5 left handed thread. Have a great day.
Is the screw length overall or measured from under the head of the screw?
Mark
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question. Fastener length is measured from where the material surface is assumed to be, to the end of the fastener. For fasteners where the head usually sits above the surface, the measurement is from directly under the head to the end of the fastener. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Left hand chuck retainer screw damaged by using double ended bits. Retainer screw head cut off and drill chuck came off in reverse direction use.
Difficult to disassemble but once chuck is off reassembly was easy
This is a low cost "Hyper Tough" sold by Walmart. Their tech people had no idea about the left hand thread retainer screw required to hold chuck on in reverse operation. However a Ryobi drill also uses the same size retainer screw. Easy fix. Could not throw away a drill for a 2 dollar part and a few minutes of my time.
Thanks for the fast response and low cost parts.

Screw that holds on the chuck broke off.
I held the chuck with channel lock pliers and it unscrewed easily. A little of the broken screw was sticking out so I grabbed it with the needle nose pliers and removed it. I remounted the chuck and tightened it up with the new screw.
