It is imperative that this part be used, it is very hazardous to use a saw with out this protective Guard.
As you are cutting your stock the Guard will telescope into the upper Guard keeping your hands and fingers away from the blade.

    Take the blade off, retract the guard, unhook the spring, remove the retaining ring (with retaining pliers), slip out the old guard, slip in the new one, then put things back into place.

    Removed the broken guard and spring
    Screwed the new lever on the guard
    Then reinstalled the guard
    Hooked one end of the spring to the guard, the other end to the housing

    1. Disassembled compressor
    2. Removed cylinder head
    3. Removed piston and cylinder
    4. Install new piston and cylinder
    5. Reinstall head
    6. Reassemble compressor
    7. Test run/ works fine

    2. Remove damaged cover
    3. Install new cover
    4. Reassemble saw
    5. Test run/ works fine

    Saw fell over and blade guard retract post broke off.

    Screwdriver, Need external snap ring pliers...

    Be sure its unplugged. Remove the blade next using snap ring pliers remove the snap ring and detach the return spring. Lift broken cover straight up and off the saw. Transfer the plastic knob held with Phillip screw onto the new guard.....then place on saw..connect the return spring. Replace the snap ring and blade .be sure to install blade the right way. Rick

    Remove blade, remove washer, remove o-ring, pull off broken guard, install replacement guard , install ring, washer, blade & install & tighten nut.

    Removed blade
    Removed rubber sleeve via screw
    Removed retainer ring
    Disconnect spring and remove safety cover

    Replace new safety cover and attach spring
    Install retainer ring
    Replace new rubber sleeve with screw
    Reinstall blade
