Replace Blade-Rotors

1st tip is that the parts do not come as a kit. You have to order qty 2 of the rotors to get a set.

1. Remove old blade rotor. Make sure you remove the metal spacer tubes in the center of the blade.
2. Good time to replace the scraper with blade rotor removed.
3. Move spacer tubes to new blade rotor and install on machine.
4. Rubber rotor is reinforced with 2 nylon layers that are not symmetric. Looking at new snow blowers the face that contacts the snow should be the side with thicker rubber.

Removing blade caused rotor to shift

Removing blade might cause the rotor to shift and holes not to line up. Loosen up the bolts on the 2nd blade. On the first blade the 2 center bolt holes should be easy. The outside 2 will be hard to align. Use a center punch to align hole and a clamp to hold in position. Insert bolt, it may take several tries as you find the proper spot for the clamp to hold. Repeat for the other hole. Do not tighten bolts yet. Repeat all steps for other blade. When done tighten all bolts.

The rotor and scraper were worn out.

I bought a Toro Power Clean snow blower from a flee market for $50, new it would have cost me $650. It started right up, but it wouldn't blow the snow. I went on U-tube to figure out the problem. I saw an ereplacementparts video. It showed me exactly what I needed to do. I ordered the parts from ereplacementparts.com. Very easy to find the correct parts and I received them in a couple of days. I replaced the parts in about an hour. Now it works like it's brand new.

Replaced rotors and scraper

Unbolted the old parts and bolted on the new parts. Some of the bolts may need to soaked in penetrating lube to help remove them.

Replaced the auger blades and scraper blade on my Toro snowblower

First I watched the video on line provided by replacement parts.com, also I had the manual for the machine. Very easy with no surprises!

Snow Thrower: worn drive belt, worn and broken scraper blade, worn rubber impeller blades

1. Removed side panel cover over drive train
2. Removed and replaced Drive belt.
3. Removed Scraper Blade bracket
4. Removed old Scraper Blade
5. Straightened bottom panel on which scraper blade mounts (badly bent)
6. Installed new Scraper Blade
7. Removed and replaced Rubber Impeller Blades (This is the worst part. There is no access to side nuts without removing the impeller shaft, drive pulley, bearings,belt, etc. Use small needle-nose vise-grips to hold the nuts in place, AND hold the rubber blade to the impeller shaft frame while driving the Torx bolts with a power nut driver, and a Flex-extension on the driver).
8. Replaced Side panel.

Needed worn parts replaced

Removed cover, belt cover, drive pulley, removed rotor. Then replaced paddles, scraper. mounted rotor, drive pulley, new belt and reassembled.

Housing assembly was bent and wore out scrapper

Everything went Ok except one of the bearings were rusted on. Going to see if I could get a small engine business to remove it.

Worn out rotor blades and scraper

Removed old rotor blades and scraper blades. BE FOREWARNED! The removal is fairly easy, the replacement is an absolute pain. There is no room to get your fingers in to hold the nuts in place on the rotor blades. I ended up supergluing the nuts to a piece of dowel to hold them in place to get the bolt started. All worked well in the end, but what like an hours job ended up taking over three hours. Replacement parts were perfect and it works like new.
