Worn out air compressor piston compression ring
My compressor had been slow to recharge for some time and finally stopped compressing air and was very noisy. I removed the cylinder head and a bolt on piston top and removed the compression ring with a hole in it. I placed the new ring on the piston aligning the ring as centered as possible and bolted the top back on which pressed the ring into the cylinder. Then I reinstalled the head and turned the piston over by hand. It turned over smoothly so I plugged it in and started it up. It now runs much more quietly and fills the 25 gal tank in about 10 minutes. Don't need to buy a new compressor. Sweet.
