If your toaster will not turn on, check the safety fuse, also known as the thermal fuse. The fuse prevents fires by cutting off power to the elements. If the fuse is not working properly it can get suck in the off setting and will not turn on. Check to ensure the fuse is not burnt out, if it is, replace it with a new fuse if it is.

Control Boards
Control Boards
If one of the units on the circuit board in your toaster is burnt, it can affect the toaster from turning on and will need to be replaced. To install a new circuit board, flip the base of the toaster down and unscrew the base with a Phillips screwdriver. Next, flip the toaster back up and support the bottom as you remove the top. You can now access the board and disconnect the cable connector from the toaster by pulling it away from the board. Lastly, unscrew all screws that attach the board to the cover and remove it. Install the new board and reassemble toaster.
