Accessing the battery area on each Power Wheels model may be just a little different, but the steps for this repair will be very similar for all models. We demonstrate this repair on a Power Wheels Barbie Jeep.   1. Remove the battery wire clip.

The wire clip will pull right out of the battery with a little squeeze on the sides of the clip.

  2. Remove the battery cover.

Now it's time to access the battery by removing the battery cover.

In the case of our Barbie Jeep, three Phillips screws must be unscrewed in order to remove the battery cover.

When removing the cover, make sure to pull the battery wire clip through the opening in the cover.

  3. Remove the old battery.

With the cover out of the way, the old battery can be removed from the vehicle just by lifting it out of the machine. [Back to top]   4. Install the new battery.

Now, the new battery can be set into position inside the vehicle.

Thread the new battery wire clip through the opening in the battery cover and then replace the battery cover fasteners.
