Shaver would not hold a charge.
The shaver was a Braun Series 790 cc. The rubber back is easily pried off revealing a metal back that is held by 4 screws. Simply remove these screws and the battery is then accessible and is easily lifted out. Reassemble in reverse order.

Screwdriver, Small Torx #8 screwdriver, very small flat blade screwdriver
Battery was at the end of its life. It wouldn't hold a charge more than a few days.
Removed the outside cover on the back. pry gently with the small flat blade screwdriver. Remove the inside cover, with the #8 torx screwdriver. Exchanged the battery with the new battery. Be careful when replacing the screws into the plastic body of the shaver. I always turn a screw, especially a small screw, backward until it "clicks", indicating it is in the correct position with the existing threads. The "click" is more felt in the screwdriver than heard. It is very easy to get the screw cross threaded and if you do that a few times, the threads could be ruined, especially in plastic or wood.

Braun battery replacement
The part came quick and was as described a drop in replacement for my braun 900 series shaver. Only ding is that the battery was dated 2012. It works fine now, but worried about longevity. Overall happy with saving $300 on a new shaver.
