This was for our Jet/Powermax 22-44 drum sander. The power receptacle for the drum motor connection had died.

Basically there were four screws in the sand-smart box (I think it was four)... removing those, and loosening the allen set screw holding the motor inside onto the shaft of the roller, and the whole top part comes of. Pulling the old receptacle out was a bit of a challenge... ended up using pliers and breaking off the holder tabs. Once it was out, this one snapped right in, and I reconnected the wires and it was done. Pretty simple.

The old receptacle wouldn’t hold the plug in enough to make a good contact

Connected the wires, pushed the receptacle into place, then reinstalled the part back on my drum sander.

Opened up control box . Disconnected it from driveshaft and relocated box on workbenches. Removed damaged parts and burned wires replaced with new and reinstalled.

Unplugged power
Removed electrical component cover
Disconnected motor coupling
Removed motor
Unplugged wires to receptacle
Replaced receptacle
and reconnected wires

Receptacle went bad on my sander and needed replacing

Press the tabs on the side of the receptacle to release it from the housing. Then just replaced the the wires one at a time from the old receptacle to the new one, then just snap it into place
