Pump body arrived well packaged. Excellent quality part that fit right the first time. I’m a mechanic by trade, so the swap was easy, but anyone with a couple hand tools will be able to replace this pump body with no trouble at all. Thanks ereplacement for getting the right parts shipped out fast.

Plumber overtorqued inlet pipe fitting and cracked old Flo-Tech pump housing

    Byron - May 27, 2021
    Tool Type

    Pump

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    15-30 minutes

    Tools Used

Socket set, Adjustable Wrench, Deadblow hammer, short rubber hose to drive out volute

Removed four bolts holding housing to motor and base bracket
Removed drain plugs and pressure switch port from old pump housing transferred to new housing
Pulled old housing with cracked inlet fitting away from motor and impellor
Drove volute out of old housing [gently!] with short length of rubber house using deadblow hammer
Cleaned slime off the volute and inflow internal piping
Greased large O-ring in the motor side of housing, and small O-ring at the inlet port with faucet grease and greased the mating surfaces in the new housing
Make sure the black plastic baffle plate is seated properly on the radial bosses of the volute
Push the volute into the new housing; it only fits one way as the inlet port is off-center
Reinstall the four bolts holding the pump housing to the motor and mounting bracket

    and Bob's your uncle!
