Removed old idler pulley
Removed deck and steering wheel
Removed old drive belt
Snaked new drive belt in and tightened new idler pulley

Raised Tractor 3 feet above ground to work on it.
Removed old belt making sure to notice it's path so I could install the new one.
I took pictures to help with my memory!
Reinstalled new drive belt and plastic pulley (which was broken) but had to loosen rear pulley guides on all pulleys.
Had to unbolt and lift up Steering wheel shaft in order to install new belt properly.
Had to unhook link clip near rear pulley to get new belt on properly.
Tightened everything back in place and no more problems.

Removed old pulley. Ordered replacement pulley. New pulley required me to remove a spacer from the center of the bearing from the old pulley and install it on the new one. This would have been a much easier repair if the new pulley matched the old one identically.

Removed the worn tension pullies - one was completely worn out, the other two were still usable, but replaced all 3 to avoid a repeat repair -

First thing you need to do is remove the battery. Than remove mower deck. Not hard to do. Only belt that needs to be removed at this time is the deck belt off the pulley. Leave the rest of that belt in place. Pull deck away from mower so you can get underneath the mower. Now take the battery carrier out so you can see the transaxle pulley. 2 bolts you can see that you can loosen so it will make it easy to remove drive belt from pulley. The 2 bolts are belt guides. Now get underneath your mower and slowly pull the belt out. At this time you can remove the idler pulley if you wish. Belt is out, put new one in and new idler pulley.

With some common sense and the assembly/parts diagrams that Replacement Parts provided made the job very simple. I was stumped a little and had to refer back to them while making the repairs. They are the same diagrams I used to order my parts. What I am about to say is hard to believe and almost extinct these days. The procedure to find your replacement parts was very simple to follow. Ordering was simple. Payment options were simple. The shipment had plenty of choices as far as how fast you wanted or needed it. It arrived when it was supposed to. And here was the BIG surprise that FLOORED me, there's always a catch. EVERYTHING IN MY ORDER WAS CORRECT!!!!!!!! Belts that were on the machine when I got it were B belts normal V type, and what would happen the speed increaser would bind and the mower would lock up. ordered the factory Murray belts and pulleys and come to find out the belts were B type but did not have a V shape more flat. Installed the new belts and pulleys problem solved runs great. Remember always use the factory or trusted after market parts, saves lots of tine.

Removed deck to replace parts.

Had a used trans axle from another used tractor that I resealed two seals around axles and one around disk brake re-gasket with rubberized gasket materials around outside body of trans axle. Removed existing bad trans axle with resealed used trans axle and installed new drive Belt with Murray 37 X 87 and removed cracked adjustment tension pulley with new one and installed a new deck belt 37 X 88 on Murray 42514X8A lawn tractor. The entire job took about four hours but the only problem that remained is the final adjustment to the shift gear lever that have a fine setting between natural and reversed. Also installed.two new belt guide bolts and.nuts.

Had to drop and set aside the mower housing to remove the original idle pulley before getting the new one in place, that was the easiest part. Which consisted of using one wrench for one nut.
