Questions & Answers for Pressure Washer Pump

My problem comes with engine running and you release the control (stop power washing) the connected hose will burst where it is fastened to the power washer.
Ted John Spitaleri for model number RY802800 asked on 2023-11-28
Hi Ted, Thank you for your question. It is important that when you are using the pressure washer, that the water temperature is set correctly and that you are using the correct hose for the what you are doing, otherwise it will burst from the pressure washer. If you did not drain the system before using it, the hose may burst from the pressure washer. Also, if the hose is bursting from the pressure washer, it may not have been properly fastened or it maybe old or worn. We hope this helps!

After a couple of years of very low usage I noticed a bolt under the pump on the ground. I turned the unit over and it was one of the three bolts holding the lower part of the pump. Tried to reinstall it before noticing it had sheared off and the break is in the middle section and inaccessible. Tried drilling and using an easyout but that broke. Seems the bolt was overtightened during manufacture since I never touched anything on the pump. Any sort of extended warranty on an issue such as this? Regards, Lee

Replace pressure pump and thermal relief valve
Keep power head upright! Remember you should drain the fuel and oil at minimum drain the fuel. Remove the 4 bolts from the pump and drop the pump assy. There is a shaft key make sure you have it on the engine shaft. Align the shaft key to the pump install the four bolts to the bottle of the engine. I fill the pump with a protectant agent them added fuel and pulled the engine start cord until the protectant came out (Note the engine was in the off position). Connected the water supply and started the engine, the unit worked like new! (Note it is important to use a pump protectant after each use and certainly before prolonged storage!)

Pump quit pumping had to replace pump
I had to remove 3 bolts that held the pump to the motor. The pump dropped down and it had a shaft with a key way in the middle. Then, I had to line up the new pump with the motor and secure it at the same time. This was the hardest part of the repair.

Easy replacement
Very easy and rather quick repair. Just disconnected everything from the old pump, removed the three bolts that secure it and took it off. Attached the new pump with the same hardware, re-connected the hose.

Replaced pump. Winterized but still froze and cracked the housing.
Important to know that when you remove the pump you will need help holding the pump up during the replacement. I found the job to be easy if you placed the pressure washer on a table rather than at ground level. Remove three bolts then remove the old pump. Line the new pump up to the shaft and tighten the three bolts. Remove the thermal relief valve from the old pump and place it on the new one.

    Pressure washer pump.
Arrived quick. Easy to put on. The only thing I had trouble with was getting the pump on the shaft with the key. A couple light taps with a rubber mallet and was good to go. Clean and lightly lube the shaft and key. Works great. Thanks. I recommend this company for parts.

    Another diy success
Replacement pump for a gas powered power washer. Relatively simple to remove and replace. Gas motor has plenty of life left, pump had given up so for 1/3 the cost of a whole new unit I am back up and running.
