This is a high-quality pressure spring that is made for use with Karcher pressure washers. It is an authentic item that is supplied from the original manufacturer. The spring applies tension on the piston that helps to create pressure inside the cylinder. Over time it may wear out, get damaged or lost eventually requiring a replacement to maintain your pump. Refer to the owners manual and the diagrams of your model for the correct installation. Note, this pressure spring is made of durable metal and is sold as an individual item. To perform this repair you will need a screwdriver and a wrench set. Remove the cover and the cylinder head to gain access to the pressure spring.

Removed cover, two torx bolts, and removed the cover. Pulled unloader valve out with needle nose pliers. Cleaned the housing, coated the upper o-ring on the valve and installed it.

1. Removed pump frame from casting that connects to gas motor.
2. Of the 3 pistons, two had popped the retainer clips off which releases the tension, and any function of the spring. One of the clips was damaged, the other was reusable.
3. Gear oil in the case was cloudy from water intrusion. Replaced the gear oil.
4. Had to purchase a piston to get a keeper/clip. One spring was slightly bent so I replaced it. On a unit more than 15 yrs old, I replaced rubber gasket even though old one was not leaking.

Parts Used
Removed pump from unit held on by 4 allen style bolts. Drained oil. Removed for pump bolts, the three pressure springs were exposed at this point. Replaced springs and new oil and assembled.

Pressure washer pressure pulsing very fast with high pressure

1. Purchased all most likely parts likely to cause problem: valves, seals & springs.
2. Disassembled pump. No oil in wobble plate housing - only some water. (Probably piston seal?)
3. Cleaned housings, reused parts with carb cleaner. Added 15-40w oil. Reassembled & installed.
4. Works better than when I bought it, (was rebuilt unit.)
5. I found seals a little tricky to install as they are flared out & you'll probably try to use a screwdriver to install - careful, easy to damage seal.
6.Also, check the spill valve before you remove pump - it can cause erratic (as well as low) pressure.
