Product Information

Description:

This part comes directly from Presto. The Regulator maintains the proper pressure in many canners and pressure cookers. This part is regulates the pressure to 15lbs per square inch. When the pressure reaches 15lbs the regulator starts to gently rock. This part is made of stainless steel and has a plastic handle. This part should be replaced if it no longer sits correctly on the Vent Pipe (part number 01058). No tools are needed to replace this part.

I purchased this pressure cooker at a garage sale, and it was missing the pressure regulator and the seal inside the lid was dried out.

Removed the old sealing ring - I had to use a knife to start it, as it had not been used in quite some time and it was dried into the lid. Once I got it out, I replaced it with the new one. When replacing a sealing ring, I usually have to kind of squish it into the lid to make it fit. Then I used my hands/fingers and removed the old safety valve, because I assumed it was as old as the sealing ring. It was very easy to just pop out, and the new one was very easy to pop in. When using the pressure cooker, I placed the new pressure regulator on top and everything worked fine.

The original pressure regulator was lost in a house fire but the pressure cooker survived.

Thanks to eReplacement I was able to purchase a replacement pressure regulator. Placed the replacement pressure regulator on pressure cooker lid.

Pressure cooker was very old (50 years); vent pipe/pressure regulator allowed excessive steam to escape.

Removed old pipe vent. Then installed the new one. Replaced pressure regulator with a new one. Pressure cooker is working like new now.

First clean out space where sealing ring is placed. Install sealing ring and safety plug. Also replaced pressure regulator, the one we had was getting old.

No special instructions necessary, the regulator will only fit on the pressure cooker lid one way, remove it from package and place it over steam outlet tube, anybody can do it

Pressure regulator lost. Cooker not used for some time.

Replaced lost regulator on the cooker lid, Popped out the over pressure plug replaced just as a safety measure. Air vent plug ordered for future use. Repairs went very well. Cooker works great.
