Had to call to figure out what I needed and the phone guy was very helpful. Got exactly what I needed, and quickly too.

    RIGID palm sander
They had the very part I needed by PART # and shipped it quickly. Never expected to find this part so easily.
    Guest - May 28, 2022 Verified Purchase
OEM - Just what I expected.
Poor original design - the pressure plate that holds the front of the sandpaper, while convenient, has worn over the years and will no longer hold sandpaper - even with extra layers of paper installed. This gets me back in business.

Removed the 4 screws in the bottom of the sander pad. The pad plate and cushion came off. Grabbed the platen assembly by the sides and lifted it off the motor assembly. The only screws holding it in place are the 4 in the sander pad. Pushed the new platen assembly in place, replaced the sanding pad and cushion with the new one and screwed the holding everything in place.
Word of advise. If ordering, order several sanding pad plates and cushions. They wear out fast.
    Very easy to do.
