Description:
This is a genuine set of two (2) steel planer blades. Those blades are sourced from original equipment manufacturer designed for use with Delta planers. These double edged high speed steel blades keeps a sharp edge longer. Planer's knives are machined to make very precise cuts. When your knife blades wear down, you won't get the level of precision you require. To replace the blades you will need a wrench. |

blades ( knives ) on wood planer were getting dull and had a nick in one blade
1. Placed planer on work bench.
2. Removed guard/hood/shield from planer. Screws for hood are removable by hand.
3. Used heavy duty Allen Wrench that came w/ planer to loosen 6 screws per blade. Do NOT remove screws or plate which holds blades in place. The plates on my Delta have springs which help lift the plates. Loosen plates enough to remove the blades. Blades are held in place with short metal pegs over which the blades can be lifted/removed. The blades are sharp so use the magnetized holder/remover that may have been part of the planer unit when purchased. Hand removal is an option as well. Either way, wear THIN, supple leather gloves during removal.
4. Install replacement blades. Tighten screws on plate holding the blades.
5. Reattach guard/hood/shield with hand tightened screws.
6. Test plane a scrap metal-free board 2 or more inches wide.
7. Smile as planer is stored and ready for next project.

Good Replacement Part
As advertised and fits my planer. I would recommend that you specify that there are two blades in the set. This is not clear from the description.
