Questions & Answers for Pigtail, 5/8 X 4.5

I purchased a 5/8 pigtail replacement. Do I need to remove drum to put it in or no?
Gabriel for model number Rigid k750 asked on 2022-03-24
Hi Gabriel, Thank you for your question. Yes, the pigtail will need to be removed from the drum. According to your owner's manual, first set the kickstand. Then remove all cables from the drum except the pigtail. Then remove the autofeed assembly, the guide tube, the inner drum and the main drum. Then remove the bolt anchoring the pigtail. The bolt is found on back of the drum. With the bolt removed, remove the pigtail from the drum and insert the new pigtail. Then align the hole in pigtail fastener with the hole in the back of the drum and insert the bolt, the washers and the nut, and tighten securely. Push the remainder of the pigtail into drum. Install the drum onto the mounting boss and insert the rear support bolt and then securely tighten the bolt. Then grasp the end of the pigtail and and follow the steps in reverse to reconnect the parts. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!
