The on-off switch on the leaf blower is jammed and won't turn on. What to do? If it can be repaired, where should it be taken?
Bill For model number LSW221 - April 5, 2023

Hello Bill, Thank you for writing. This is normally an indication the Switch Part Number: 383994-00 needs to be replaced. To install the Switch you will need to unscrewed the handle housing assembly and next disconnect the 2 wires that are attached tot he Switch. Removed the switch, and reversed steps to install. We hope this helps!

Parts arrived in the mail - accuracy of the order was spot on!
Downloaded the parts diagram for the trimmer....on the internet

Removed screws from handle assembly. Took one terminal at a time from the old switch and put it in the same place on the new switch. Put housing back together. I then pulled the defective lever out of the spool holder, then pressed the new one back in.

Both items installed without any problems and the trimmer worked as good as new - saving me the expense of replacing it with a new trimmer.

Much appreciation and thanks!!

Replacement switch fit like a charm; trimmer is useful once again. Hardest part was finding Torx screwdriver to remove screws. Slid wires off old switch and inserted on new switch, then re-installed screws.

This was a simple repair. I just had to use a Torx driver to disassemble the trigger housing of the weedwacker (Black and Decker ST4000,) pull the wire terminals off the faulty switch, replace them on the new switch, install and close up the housing. Easy, peasy.
