Product Description

?

This genuine replacement carbon brush is sourced directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use with Milwaukee sawzall reciprocating saws. The purpose of carbon brushes is to conduct electricity by maintaining physical contact with an armature. Due to normal use and friction brushes will gradually wear down and will require replacement. It is advised to replace both brushes at the same time. Please note this high-quality carbon brush with a lead wire is sold individually.

Remove screws that hold body housing together, locate brushes, they snap in real easy. You can use a solider gun or small wire nuts on the wires. I used small wire nuts. The compression spring is located by the trigger with a small bearing. This also comes out very easy. It takes longer to remove the screws in the housing than it does for the repair. Simple and easy job.

This is for replacing brushes in a Milwaukee M18 cordless sawzall not a cordless drill.
Remove torx screws, take apart plastic clamshell. Dont loose the tiny ball and spring in the switch lock out, it will go flying when you split the clamshell. Pry out brass brush caps to remove brush springs and brushes.
Use soldering iron to heat solder to remove old brush wire from switch. Solder new brush wire to switch. Slide in new brush then brush spring re-install brass brush cap to hold spring. Route brush wires in wire holders. Put plastic clamshell back together. The switch lockout is the hardest part. Make sure its engaged on the lock lever on top of the switch before you close the clamshell completely. Re-install torx screws. Done.
