This specially manufactured replacement brush holder cap is used on Makita power tools. It is designed to secure the carbon brush in the brush holder. This threaded plastic cap is sold individually. Be careful when removing and replacing these, as they do have a tendency to break or get lost. It features a straight slot to accommodate for a flat head screwdriver to install or remove this cap.

1) Remove the brush cap. Note their condition, you may need new ones.
2) Remove old brushes.
3) Insert new brushes.
4) Install new brush caps
5) Start using the drill :-)
