On the old chuck, the key hole wore into an oval and had to be replaced.

No flat area on the chuck axle so the drill had to be split, exposing the gear train. Removed the chuck screw. (Reverse thread) I was able to grip the axle with a channel lock pliers and unscrew the chuck and replace it with new one. Installed new chuck screw. Pretty straight forward.
