My compressor after I turn it on starts but blows circut breaker 20 amp
David For model number 919.165010 - March 20, 2023

Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. There are two reasons an air compressor can trip a breaker, electrical and mechanical. Several factors can cause your compressor to pull too much power, so first make sure that that amp rating on the compressor does not exceed the amperage the outlet can handle. Check the safety valve, piston kit with o-rings, the fan and filter kit, and check valve for any visible damage. Good luck with your repair.

Found blades on fan had come apart inside shroud and kept compressor from working, replaced original fan with new one. All it took was taking off shroud with the two torx head screws and then took off old fan with the nut it had on it. Reassembled with new fan and it works great.

Remove shroud, remove any part of old fan, (one screw holds it on), line up with keyed slots on new part, secure with screw and spin to test for center spin as it is an eccentric center, keyed slots are different sizes to assist in dummy proofing, re-attach shroud and you\'re done

First. The fan broke because I did not unwrap the air hose around the space between the tank and compressor motor. When I started it up the fan hit the hose. Second. I was delighted to find I could get a replacement fan as getting parts for older models can be difficult. I bought this Sears unit in 1996. The repair was easy, a bolt an d a couple of panel screws.

This was a straightforward replacement, removing the old defective switch and replacing with the new one. New teflon tape was used on all threaded connections. I replaced the fan as the old one was missing several fins, and the other parts were primarily cosmetic.
