Product Description

?

When you use a compressor the air that is compressed inside the tank will condensate and leave water inside the tank. If it is left in the tank too long it can start to rust out the inside of the tank. The Drain Valve should be opened up and let the water drain out. The water will build up if you have a tendency to leave air in your tank for a long period of time. You should drain your tank after each time it is used to prevent this from happening.

Is this the plug screw under side of the compressor where you can drain out any moisture inside the compressor? This plug also is loosened to let out air and water. And tightened again to stop the air from escaping.
Frank For model number C2002 - April 15, 2023

Hello Frank, thank you for your question. No, the plug you chose is for a Ingersoll Rand 232TGSL Air Impact Wrench. The part you are describing is the Drain Valve N286039. If water is left in the tank too long it can start to rust out the inside of the tank. The Drain Valve should be opened up and let the water drain out. We hope this helps.

I used penetrating oil to release the original equipment drain valve from the compressor tank, as it had rusted. I sprayed several applications of the oil onto the stem threads of the compressor and allowed 10-15 minutes between treatments. I didn\'t want to risk damaging the threads of the stem.

It was then easy to remove the defective drain valve. I applied teflon tape to the threads of the new valve, in order to facilitate removal in the future.

The replacement valve is working good again.

I had disassembled the compressor earlier to discover the reason it wouldn\'t work. Upon arrival of the parts, I found all of the items that I had ordered were very well packed and accompanied by complete diagrams and instructions. This repair could not have gone any better! The order was processed faster than I had expected and the track ing of my order was extremely accurate. I will absolutely order parts again for any of my power tools as needed.
