The grinder was shutting down often and eventually would not turn on at all.
I removed the screws holding the grinder housing together. I then carefully separated the
2 halves. I took a picture of the inside components before disconnecting anything to have a reference on reassembly.
Following that I unplugged the two terminal ends of the old over-current relay and removed it. You have to be careful not to disassemble the motor's armature housing in the process. I installed the new
over-current relay and tried to place everything in it's correct position before closing. I also
greased the gears at the top of the grinder.
It was a little difficult closing the two halves completely but eventually I succeeded
and the grinder turned right on. It was a little quieter with greased gears.
All in all it was tedious but doable.

Grinder is 20+ years old. The over current relay "died" / wore out
Remove the case screws and gently pry the case apart, making sure the grinder is on its side.so the motor and gears stay in one side of the case. TAKE A PICTURE(S) OF THE WIRING AT THE RELAY. Remove the relay and "unplug" the spade connectors (needlenose pliers make it easy). Reconnect wiring to new relay and replace. Refer to picture that you took of the wiring to ensure that wires are routed properly to avoid "pinching" when case is reassembled. Case should mate together with little or no tension. If case doesn't mate up easily, check for pinched wires. also ensure that motor and gears are seated prior to mating the cases.

Grinder overload switch was bad
Removed screws holding the two halves of grinder. Pulled switch from it's location, then removed the two wires connected to the motor circuit. Placed the new switch back into the location and re-installed the two wires to the motor circuit. Replaced the two halves of the grinder, then tested the grinder for operation.

Grinder would not operate
Replaced switch and over-power relay. Replacement parts were identical to those removed ... even same connectors. Only difficulty was correctly routing new wires back so that unit could be closed up again. Might have been wiser to take a photo before removing the used parts.

Grinder would not spin. The brushes were shot.
1. Took unit apart (seperated the body halves).
2. Removed old worn brushes and over current breaker.
3. Greased gears.
4. Installed new brushes and breaker.
5. Reassembled.

Reassembly was a little tricky. Every thing had to be in its proper orientation in order for the halves to "click" into place.
