Description:
This Trigger type switch has 4 internal terminals. Included are 4 screws. This genuine Skil replacement part is sold individually.

Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed functions. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually requiring replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are:
  • The tool has completely stopped functioning
  • it will not turn on.
  • The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t turn on at all.
  • The variable speed function and electric braking aren’t working properly.

    Questions & Answers

I have a 5480 skilsaw. The blade shaft is not firm, it comes out and enters two millimeters, is it normal?
Carlos for model number 5480 skilsaw
Hi Carlos, Thank you for your question. One of the bearings may be causing the issue. Check for play in the bearing flange. If that is okay, then check the bearing sleeve. If it is the armature that is damaged then you may need a new saw. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
Can you give me a number part for the bearing flange and sleeve, please. My Skilsaw don't have a bering maybe my technical staff remplace for copper bushing. I'll Wait your answer

Bought parts for Model 77 skill saw since the original parts for Model 367 Skil saw were no longer listed as available. The poles on trigger switch were reversed from original and after first attempt and "reading" the instructions it was obvious to correctly rewire and repair. The handle fit with just a little extra pressure all works fine now.

    Thanks, Ken

Remove the right handle half from the saw. Make a wiring diagram if you like to. Remove the wires from the switch and remove the switch and cord relief. Connect the wires to the new switch and attach the switch to the handle. Install the cord relief. Then screw the handle half to the saw.

Old switch would not turn off. Saw just kept running.
Took handle apart and replaced switch. The switch screws to connect power and load were located on a different side of replacement switch. A quick call to replacement parts clarified this change. Then I had to buy new wire ring terminals for the power cord to get correct length so wire would fit in handle. That caused some difficulty as I had to file them smaller to fit the switch connection area. All now works well.

On off switch was stuck on
I had a good skill circular saw that was about 35 years old. Skill no longer sells the parts. I looked at the ereplacementparts online list and found a switch that looked very similar. The switch fit in perfectly after I ground down a piece of plastic that was about twice the thickness of the original. The wiring hooked up differently so I had to make a couple of the existing wires a bit longer. Saw works like new now.

The on/off switch was worn out. It wouldn't turn off(stuck on)
The new switch was the same dimensions but the wiring lugs we're in a different location. I was able to re rout the wires to make them reach. It was fairly simple, only took about 15 minutes and is good as new.

Table bent after dropping saw. Handle cracked. Trigger was not working correctly causing a safety issue.
Unscrew handle halves. Remove screws holding handle to saw and remove. Unscrew wires to trigger and remove. Screw handle half to saw that holds trigger. Install trigger wires to new switch and install into handle. Tuck in the wires as not to get pinched and install second half of handle and screw together. Install screws to a fix handle to saw. Table or foot repair starts with removing depth adjustment screw by removing retaining clip then handle and increasing nut. Remove nut at front of saw at the table. Remove table. Position table onto saw body and screw front screw and nut. Position rear adjustment arch into threaded stud and replace nut. Adjust the nut so the Table can go up and down. Position the lever so down is tight and up loosens enough to adjust depth. Install keeper e clip. On old table remove adjustment nut and install on new table. Just reverse the process to install. Done. Now the saw will cut square and the honey dos will go easy.

I have Had this saw for over 25 years I didn't think I would be able to find a new trigger. Then I found.eReplacement parts.com gave them the model number and they came up with the correct one the first time at a very affordable price. When it arrived it was perfect. Question: Black & Decker Switch

    littledoug

is there another switch that will fit a 7038 saw
    WJA
    Hello littledoug,

The switch, part number 450777-06 is used in a number of circular saws. I located an image of it on line and looks as if the Skil 2610321608 Switch could be used as a substitute part.

    Question: Switch Stopped Working

    moses251

Hi My Bosch impact drill has stopped working. I haven't used it in quite a while since it stopped.
When i installed the new switch it was working and then after several uses it stopped. Connecting the wires and bypassing the switch activates the motor so i think it may be the switch that is defective.
