Socket set, Wrench Set, seal puller tool
Yard Man Zero Turn with vertical crankshaft was leaking oil from the bottom crankshaft seal.
1. Drain crankcase oil.
2. Jack up rear of mower approx. 18".
3. Loosen drive belt tensioner and blade tensioner.
4. Remove retainer bolt from bottom of crankshaft.
5. Slide electric clutch assembly and drive belt pulley off of the crankshaft.
6. Using a seal puller tool, remove the crankshaft seal.
7. Lubricate the new seal and apply silicone gasket seal to outside of seal surface.
8. Install new seal and tap into place using a piece of PVC pipe slightly smaller than the O.D.
new seal.
9. Reassemble via steps 5,4,3.
10. Power wash mower to remove all traces of oil that was caused by the leaking seal.
11. Run mower for at least 30 minutes and park it over a clean piece of cardboard
12. Let sit overnight and inspect cardboard for oil drips, if none are apparent you have fixed
the oil leak.
