This is a genuine Bostitch replacement part, it is sold individually.
The Contact Foot is attached to end of the trip assembly to prevent the material that it is being used on from getting marred or dented by the trip assembly.

It is a advisable to have one or two extra pads on hand as they do have a tendency to crack and deteriorate over time. And get lost.

    The nailer was mistakenly oil for an extended period and subsequently damaged the piston and driver,: this is an "oil-less" gun

    Simply dismantled the head and piston assy., removed the parts, cleaned vey well, greased the parts as required, re-assembled. Works like new. Applied magic marker writing to say "do not oil".

    I had lost the contact tip, as frequently happens. Replacement parts are hard to find locally. Every time I look for parts, no matter what the tool, I always check ereplacement parts and they have it.

    This is really only takes a small bit of silicon on the contact tip and then slip on the replacement. This helps keep the tip on and not get lost again.
