This is a genuine Murray replacement blade, it is sold individually.
It is used on the Mowers listed below.

It is a (3N1) Blade, that can be used for bagging, side discharge and mulching the lawn clippings. 42 inches is a reference to the cut, as there are two blades attached to the deck of the tractor.

Blade was bent after striking a large rock covered with grass, blade adapter was cracked in half.

Simply remove blade and adaptor by removing nut holding it on using appropriate socket on a breaker bar, hold top of shaft at pulley with appropriate wrench. Remove old blade and adaptor and replace with the new ones.
On a mower with multiple blades, always replace them all at the same time.

Broke a blade

Removed the 7/8 nut, lock washer , and washer
Removed old blade
Installed new blade, washer , lock washer and nut....tightened
Mowed yard !!

Needed new blades from last year's use

Just raise up the front of the tractor (safely) and take of the nut and washer on each blade, Remove old blade and install the new ones. Original parts and fit perfectly. Thanks

Blades needed to be replaced.

Raised the mower and put it on blocks.
Removed the nuts and washers from the spindle
Removed the old blades
Attached the blades to the spindle with the washers and the blade holding nut

Blades needed replaceing

Lift the front of the mower and place blocks under it
Remove the blade nut, two washers and the blade
Install the new blade on the spindle
Replace the washers
Tighten the blade nut

Pulley bearing froze

Raised the front end off the mower and put blocks below it, ad blocked the rear wheels
Remove the nut holding the pulley on, and remove the pulley
Installed the pulley on the shaft and tightened the nut
Remove both nuts from the blade axles and the washers
Install two new blades
Placed the washers on and tightened the blade nut

Cheap after market blade needed replaced after one year.

I have always used Murray replacement parts but last year I was forced to purchase a cheap aftermarket blade. After one year it bent. Couldn't believe it. Found eReplacement parts. Disconnected deck and pulled from under mower. Removed old blades and replaced with new. Pushed deck back under mower and reconnected. Pay attention and to how old blades came off
