This evaporator fan motor kit includes the fan motor, its clips, and its terminal connectors. Located in the back panel of the freezer compartment, it circulates air over the evaporator coils to ensure even distribution of cold air. It needs replacement if you notice unusual noises coming from the freezer or the presence of frost or ice buildup on the rear wall of the freezer. To replace the motor, empty the freezer and clear any shelving. Remove the evaporator cover and disconnect the harness connecter in the top left corner. Once the cover is detached, disconnect the harness from the old motor. Proceed to remove the ice maker connector and the fan cover, making sure to release any necessary harnesses. Detach the fan blade and remove the front mounting bracket. You will need to reuse the spacer washer and the grommet from the bracket. To install the new motor, slide the grommet from the old front bracket onto the new motor before seating the motor into the grommet of the rear bracket. Finally, reassemble all the components in reverse order. Remember to note that this OEM replacement kit does not include any additional hardware.
