Motor was burned out due to poor installation

Removed old motor and blower wheel by removing nuts holding it to bracket.
Pushed new blower wheel onto new motor.
Fastened with nuts the motor blower wheel assembly onto bracket.
Installed entire assembly into duct/vent housing.
Biggest issue was tabs on one side of bracket would not hold bracket into vent housing. I tried to screw it in and couldn't get it to work so finally I bent the bracket tabs out further to get more friction in vent housing. It is important for blower wheel/motor assembly to be square in vent housing or blower wheel will jam into vent housing and not turn thus burn out the motor. That is what ruined my original motor in my opinion.

Replace 20-yr. old ventilation fan and blower wheel in bathroom

Val - May 11, 2016

Time

Less than 15 minutes

Tools Used

Adjustable Wrench, Cyanoacrylate glue

Simply removed 2 nuts holding old fan motor to mounting bracket and conducted a direct replacement into the same mounting holes with new fan motor. Bolt spacing was identical. The only problem encountered was that the new recommended blower wheel did not match the depth dimensions of the original and as such it would not fit back in the original duct work housing. This was corrected by carefully removing the original blower wheel from the old motor and securing it to the shaft of the new motor carefully with cyanoacrylate Super Glue after cleaning mating parts.
