Have lots of hours on this table saw. Couple of days ago the motor would run rough (light growl, like vibration) then smooth out. Today the growl was louder and smoke rolled out. I'm thinking complete replacement of the motor with this part is the easiest course of action for non-electrician. Advice?

I purchased this saw a couple of years ago. I don't use it that often. If I could put it so you would understand. I would say, turn the motor on and let it run for about 3 hours total run time. It is in great physical shape. The brushes on the motor are about 3/4" long I could not believe that so much sawdust got in there. Cleaned them out and they move freely in their housings. I cut a 3 foot piece of ply turned it off and when I went back to cut another it did nothing. No smell no sound. I didn't jam the wood. It just didn't turn back on. In your experience what would be the first part that you think should be replaced so I don't purchase the wrong item. Thank you in advance. John.

Hi John, Thank you for writing. We suggest testing the Switch with a Multimeter to check the continuity. This is the power switch for the Ridgid Table Saws. We hope this information is useful!

The process was very easy, all I did was remove and replace all of the parts I ordered. The motor had been discounted but, all other parts where in stock. I was very surprised when I received my order, they had found the motor somewhere, They delivered all that I had asked. Very Happy!!
