    electric motor went bad

    Screwdriver, Soldering gun, can of air

    1. Disassembled driver by removing screws.
    2. Removed motor from impact drive by pulling it out no screws.
    3. Cut wires in the middle to the motor just to make it easier to un solder the wires from the circuit board.
    4. Heated each wire separately and used canned air to blow old solder away from wires and removed them.
    5. I installed new motor red and black wires in the same position as original wires and soldered them into place.
    6. Removed two screws from the old motor and removed the piece that mates to impact drive.
    7. Installed it onto new motor in the same position as old motor.
    8. Reassembled impact driver.

    Motor locked up, smelled burned

    , T Driver Hex, soldering iron

    1. Removed battery
    2. Unscrewed all hex screws
    3. Took a picture of all internal parts before removing them.
    4. Soldered motor wires to switch
    5. Replaced all parts
    6. All wires in the replacement pack are exact lengths, be careful not to cut wires short
    7. Replaces and re-screwed all Hex screw and then the battery
    8. Test equipment, works perfect, like brand new

    Burned out motor

    1. Removed old motor along with soldered connections.
    2. Watched your video and simply followed instructions.
    3. That's it!!! Remove & Replace $40 as opposed to $120 for a new drill.

    Ridgid impact driver stopped driving but would work intermittently and gradually slower and slower- figured it was brush issue

    1) bought entire motor assembly-brush only replacement not available
    2) opened driver body w/ t10 star driver and removed back cover
    3) after watching YouTube video removed motor assembly from "drive train"
    4) reassembled "drive train" and reinserted assembly into body
    5) soldered electrical connections and taped - critical for allowing wires to fit back into allowable opening compartment- i.e. crimp connectors/ wire nuts will not fit
    6) reassembled driver housing/body/halves thank you

    Disassembled the case
    Removed the switch and trigger assembly
    Desoldered motor wires from trigger
    Disassembled motor and gear case
    Reassemble gear case and new motor
    Soldered wires to switch
    Reassemble unit in new case
    Applied new sticker

    Slow rpm no impact

    Remove all screws, split case, heat solder, remove old wires and. motor, solder new wires, reassemble, smile with pride

    Original motor failed

    Remove back cap. Remove one half of the housing, trying to keep all of the parts in the other half. Make a wiring diagram of the unit. Remove the motor and leads from tool. Install the new motor and solder the wires.
