Pop off spool cover and replace lever. Mine pop-off with my hands. A screwdriver flat blade may be required if it is stuck. Then press the new one on.

Remove the broken cover and removed the spool. Removed the lever from inside the spool housing and replaced it with the new one. Then replaced the spool, and snapped the new cover on

Mine was merely a project to replace a few parts on my Black and Decker electric weed wacker, which went easily enough.
I'd like to convey my appreciation to your business for being a place to buy replacement parts for household appliances.. Sadly, our society has become used to simply discarding items if they don't work properly. I could have easily replaced mine with a new week wacker, but I think about the difficulty of discarding the old one, which would most likely survive intact at the bottom of a landfill many years from now.
