1.) Pull off the head cover that has the holes for the string
2.) Remove the spool and the bump knob
3.) Discard old bump knob
4.) Install new bump knob and spool
5.) Line up holes with spool string and push head cover back on.
I purchased multiple bump knobs since the first one wore through so fast.

Open Weed Trimmer spindle like as if you were going to replace trimmer line. Just pull "Tap N Go" knob out and be careful you don't damage spring. Very easy replacement.
