The upper shaft mounting slit was cracked due to normal use. You could not tighten down the upper shaft to the power head body.
1. Unscrewed the lower portion of the shaft and removed it.
2. Loosened the Allen head bolt
3. Loosened the hold handle wing nut. Slid the handle off of the shaft.
4. The throttle mount/trigger assembly slid off of the upper shaft without having to loosen their bolts. Be careful not to bend or stretch the throttle cable which remains connected to the engines carburetor
5. Slid the new shaft through the hold handle and trigger assembly. Slowly rotated the new shaft until it falls into place. Check for proper alignment.
6. Tighten the upper shaft Allen bolt tight enough to hold it in place. Do not over tighten as it will just bend the mounting clamp more than it needs to be.
7. Re-attach the lower shaft and you are ready to go.
