This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with Weed Eater trimmers. The lower shaft kit includes the flexible drive shaft, coupler, and tube. The driveshaft links the motor and gear case and spins to drive the trimmer head. The lower shaft kit is sold as and individual replacement part.

    Remove the the gearbox assembly from the lower shaft. Then remove the worn lower shaft from the upper shaft. Attach the new lower shaft assembly to the upper shaft. Then attach the gearbox to the end of the lower shaft.

    Lower shaft broke. Trimmer head was loose as if hinged

    Screwdriver, Allen wrench.

    1. Remove the lower shaft from upper shaft
    2 Remove guard
    3 Unscrew the 2 upper screws on trimmer head, & remove trimmer head
    4 Slide the drive shaft out of old unit, slide into to unit
    5 Slide trimmer head onto new shaft & tighten both screws.
    6 Reattach the guard assembly & finished
