Ring carboned up and stuck, no compression or vaccum

Use only 50 to 1, gas/oil mixture. To much oil, it will carbon up. To little oil it will burn up. You must be mechanically inclined to do this work. Break down the entire unit and replace the piston kit. Be sure to note position of piston index ring pin with ring gap when removing. It should be on the intake side and reinstall the same way. Lube piston, ring and wrist pin when assembling with two cycle oil. Reassemble in reverse.

Engine would not start, after diagnosis, it was determined that there was a loss of compression. I did a complete engine disassembly and found the piston ring was seized.

After disassembly of the engine, I removed the old piston and replaced it with the new one. I made sure it was oriented exactly as the old piston had been (be sure to make note of the proper orientation during disassembly). I carefully put the ring around the groove in the piston and lubricated all parts with 2 cycle engine oil. I inserted the piston back into the cylinder (also lubricated) and reassembled the blower insuring to use all new gaskets and seals to prevent leakes. (Note: I used a business card to get the proper gap between the magnets and ignition coil during reassembly.) After it was reassembled, it started on the fourth pull.
Had I brought the blower to a repair facility it would have cost nearly as much to repair as a new blower. I was able to repair this one as good as new for just over $40.00 and some time invested.

I picked this blower up knowing that it didn’t run. It is a Husqvarna 125 b. Disassembled the blower and found that the piston was scored and the ring was questionable.
I ordered a new piston kit and installed it into the barrel after lubricating it with two stroke oil. I reassembled the blower and added the proper fuel to the tank. I primed and choked the carb. I gave the motor three pulls and just like that, it started up! I’ve read a lot of reviews about how this blower is not that good. But, for six weeks now, it has worked very well.
