Bearing was shot. Worm gear was destroyed because of that.

Removed old worm gear and replaced with new. Installed new bearings and reassembled

Socket set, rotary tool

Worm shaft and gear stripped

Removed housing from snow blower to gain access to bolt holding the worm shaft. removed worm assembly and disassembled. Removed blower fan from old worm shaft by drilling out pins. (drilling pins was the hardest part). Used rotary tool to grind high spots of shaft so I could remove the worm gear. Scraped and sanded sides of auger assembly to remove old silicone. Filled auger assembly with grease and installed new shaft and worm gear. Put auger assembly back together with silicone. Put blower fan on new shaft with pins and installed into housing. Attached housing to snowblower. Mounted belts.
