Description:
It is a genuine Shimano component which is specially designed for use with fishing reels. The gear is an important part of the unit which helps to drive the shaft. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement to ensure your reel functions properly. One durable plastic idle gear is included. Refer to the appropriate diagram for your model for the correct application. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart in order to perform this repair.

Nylon level wind gear on fishing reel broke.
1. Removed four screws from reel cover on non-handle side of reel.
2. Removed cover to expose nylon gear.
3. Removed screw holding gear in place.
4. Removed broken gear, put new gear in place.
5. Secured new gear with screw.
6. Replaced reel cover, secured four screws to hold cover in place.
7. Gone fishing!!

The Line Leveler was not functioning correctly and the reel handle was not smooth and would get stuck
1. Remove the end plate on the end of the Line counter (Opposing end of handle)
2. Locate idle gears that operate the line level.
3. Verify that they teeth on the gears were bad (Flat or missing)
4. Using needle nose pliers remove the gear
5. Lubricate the new gear with lithium grease and then replace.
6. Replace steps with the second gear
