Screwdriver, Power Drill, Socket set, Nutdriver, punch and hammer

removed engine brake cable, removed starter top, removed all fuel from fuel tank, turned over mower on the oil side to drain it when removing items from under unit, removed cutting blade, drained motor oil from unit, removed belt from shaft, removed blade anchor from motor shaft, removed 3 mount bolts and belt cross guard, remove oil dip stick tube from motor block and from air cowl housing be sure seal is on the tube for re installment in base cover, place motor on its top remove the base cover bolts, pry the cover from motor block, remove gasket if broken any were, you will use automotive silicone to re seal block/base, take a 1/16th. drill bit and a punch to match it, find the center of the governor post on reverse side of base and drill out slowly as when you hit center of the governor post your drill bit will stop cutting fast and will stop drilling when it hits the post, then take a long punch and stick it in hole and drive out post and fix governor at this time, after governor repair re insert governor assembly back into its hole in base cover then reassemble cover to case of motor after ether a new gasket or silicone is applied, place bolts back in cover and tighten down tight and remember you ARE WORKING WITH CAST ALUMINUM PARTS IF OVER TIGHTENED THEY WILL STRIP OUT THE BLOCK, reverse the process to put motor back on deck after motor is back on deck and belt and blade is on hook all other things back up fill with fresh motor 30 weight oil and fuel and start the mower up and check for any other problems as they show up if any.
