The height guide was completely missing from the unit. It had broken off.

Removed the old rusty bolt. Placed the new height guide on the trimmer with the new bolt. Every time I try to fix something, something goes wrong. This time it didn't! Very pleased.

I removed what was left of my height guide.
I installed the new bolt with the new height guide and voila it is fixed.
