Hi Jerry,
Thank you for your question. If your propane heater does not light when the gas is turned on, then the pilot flame may be too far from the thermocouple. If the orifices are restricted because of corrosion, then the heater will not light. You will need to inspect these parts to see which one is causing the issue.
